In a Nut Shell - Geneve, Zurich, & Berlin

So, sadly, we went on our LAST EVER ski/snowboard trip for the season, with an adult camp from the church a couple of weeks ago. It was on the Swiss/France border just past Geneve. It was so warm, the snow started to get really sticky - great runs, but I think it was the weirdest conditions I've ever experienced. If you pick up too much speed, the stickiness of it all grabs your board, so you go head over foot! (Kev can attest to this!) And I got to ride a "je-ski" or something, which is just a seat on a little ski! You sit on the seat, legs streight out, and grab the seat with your hands. I know it sounds super akward, but once you get the hang of it, its soooooo fun! Turns out I'm pro. :)

Upon return, we have been at G5 basically non-stop as we have been undergoing painting projects and helping with the new patio that is going in at our Restaurant. We had another Youth Retreat Vision weekend over Easter, and this past weekend had some very special Zurich guests (those of you that might know her, Andrea Knabenhans, my friend through Tawny Treen) stay with us for some leadership Seminars our church hosted. SO GREAT TO SEE HER!! She's one of those people that is just incredibly encouraging to be around. Not to mention, I thoroughly enjoyed getting an ear-full of Swiss German!

(On a side note - though they all seem to be able to converse with me, the Germans seem to think I speak Swiss German, and the Swiss think I'm speaking high German. So, as it turns out, I've managed to make up my own language. How emberessing.)
The seminars that I was able to attend this weekend were an inspiration to me about what I want to do with my life, and definately worth being part of! We also hosted another "Big Games" on Saturday, so all in all, I'm spent.

And our "internship" is officially over in mid June. That means we have exactly 2 months left here. So as our time is "winding down", a general sense of panick seems to have crept in. So much to do, so little time!! On our side, we are realizing that after being in Germany for 7 months, we haven't actually seen much of the country at all, other than our own little corner of it. Hence, we are going to Berlin on Thursday night! Through connections here, we get to stay in a fully furnished appartment there for as long as we want for free! (which will actually be until next Wednsday morning) And we're pretty excited to just be tourists for awhile.

On the side of a few others, we have suddenly been recieving invitations from all of the elders, leaders and so forth here to meet, or go out, or have dinner, etc. Its been neat, but a little strange because somehow along with April fools day came a new-found popularity! And we're just hoping the two aren't related...
